Mabel H. Mills, a member of the British archival research team hired by University of Chicago faculty John Matthews Manly and Edith Rickert to work on the Chaucer Project. She is pictured with a Custom House Account (on stand) which documents that Geoffrey Chaucer, when serving as a customs official, appeared as a witness to attest the accounts' accuracy.
