Description | Arthur Holly Compton, professor of Physics at the University of Chicago conducts the testing of balloons on campus atop the roof of Ryerson Physical Laboratory. Data from the balloons, as they drift free, are recorded and transmitted by short wave to a ground radio. The balloons have been found as far away as 400 miles from the point of liberation. |
