I: Individuals and Groups
A team led by F. Clark Howell, professor in the department of Anthropology at the University of Chicago found 2,000,000 year-old fossil remains of Australopithecines in the Omo River Valley of southern Ethiopia in 1968. Dr. Howell is pictured comparing his finds to casts of the skeletal remains (right hand) of a 1,750,000 year-old hominid fossil found by paleoanthropologist Mary Leakey in 1959. The box contains Australopithecine teeth of various ages.
