Albert V. Crewe (far left), professor of Physics, and dean of the Physical Sciences division (1971-1981) at the University of Chicago, with members of the atom-microscopy project at the Enrico Fermi Institute. Dr. Crewe is pictured with (from left): Michael Isaacson, Dave Kopf, Mark Utlaut, and Mitsu Ohtsuki. The team developed the first color photographs of atoms, including atoms of different types in the same field of view.
