Description | Laying of the cornerstone for the Reynolds Club, June 1901. Artifacts placed within the cornerstone in time capsule fashion included: the official statement of donation; photographs of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Reynolds; a photograph of the university's founder; assorted university publications; addresses delivered for the occasion; the Decennial Program; and the days' Chicago newspapers. The event was part of a series of ceremonies celebrating the university's Decennial during which cornerstones for six new buildings were laid. |
