Second largest bell in the world arrives for University of Chicago Carillon. New York, the second largest bell in the world weighing seventeen tons, is shown above on its arrival from Europe today, July 26, on the S. S. American Trader. The bell is part of a 72-bell carillon, which will be installed in the chapel of the University of Chicago in memory of Laura Spelman Rockefeller, late wife of John D. Rockefeller, Sr.
