Musical Anesthesia, 1950 5
III: Events
Through lightweight stethoscope-type earphones, a patient will listen to music during surgery as an adjuvant to their anesthesia in the new Nathan Goldblatt Memorial Hospital of the University of Chicago. Surgeons and psychiatrists understand that a surgical operation is a very real ordeal for nearly all patients. The music is heard by the anesthesiologist who proctors it, and the patient.
