Sally Whittier (right) checks in Miss Anne Melegh of Pittsburgh as the 500,000 visitor to the University of Chicago's Oriental Institute Museum. As a gift, Miss Melegh (center) receives a 1,500 years old pottery lamp from Howard B. Matthews (left). An average of about 65,000 persons a year have visited the museum since its opening December 5, 1931.
