Entrants Program, 1940s 8
III: Events
Two of the new students entering the College this year sit on a bench in front of the University of Chicago Law School. Virginia Kraus (left), 16, from Chicago enters after two years of high school. She'll take 14 comprehensives, and should finish ahead of her former classmates who will not enter college for another two years. She plans to study dress design when she finishes her liberal arts education. Marc Galanter (right), 17 of Philadelphia, has had 3 1/2 years of high school. He wants to be a psychologist, and as a result of his placement tests, he need only 8 comprehensives.
