Instructors test a parabolic receiver and transmitter in the high frequency radio and microwaves course at the University of Chicago. The course is taken by Army Signal Corps students on inactive duty. At the left is an aluminum receiving parabola and an aluminum transmitting parabola connected to klystron and power supply is at the right. An inductive output amplifier (background) with a rhumbatron, its power supply, is also in use.
