III: Events
University of Chicago students prepared this unusual spectacle to provide a background for the huge peace rally to be staged Friday. The field of crosses represent Flanders Field as a mute argument against U.S. intervention in the present war and as an indictment of warfare in general. The crosses are set in the heart of the Midway, with university buildings in the background.
