III: Events
Pulse, a student magazine of the University of Chicago, announced it will sponsor a women's defense group. Attendees include, from left: Lois Regnell, Betty Headlin, Fay Trolander and Frances Megan. In a Pulse editorial, it was suggested that the nation's defense program include a six-month intensive training course for unmarried women without dependents. The last war showed that the place of women is an important one. Jobs vacated by men drafted into the army such as home defense and ambulance and hospital corps must all be maintained.
