Description | Map (photograph copy) showing the general arrangement of the World's Columbian Exposition's buildings and grounds. The grounds extended across Jackson Park and the Midway Plaisance (insert, top). The statue, "The Republic," stood at the east end of the Grand Basin on the lakefront at 64th Street. After the fair, the basin and canal were filled in, and much of the lagoon's has been covered over. |
