Prefabs on Midway, 1946 1
IV: Student Activities
College students like Lucille B. Hawkins (A.B., 1943) and her husband Donald M. Hawkins, who is studying for a law degree, are among seventy-five families occupying the "Prefabs" on the 61st Street and Greenwood Avenue site at the University of Chicago. Soon there will be two laundries available, but for now families fill at least half a dozen clotheslines every day.
