Dallin Oaks (left), professor of Law at the University of Chicago, and chairman of the Disciplinary Committee. Committee members were reviewing possible actions to take against students who had staged a sixteen-day sit-in to protest the refusal of university administrators to renew for a second term the appointment of Marlene Dixon, a professor of Sociology. Leslie Strauss (right), a Chicago Maroon reporter asked Mr. Oaks to comment on the committee's proceedings.
