Cheryl "Salt" James, of the rap group Salt 'N' Pepa, makes an appearance on stage during the Rally for Women's Lives, held on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., 9 April, 1995. Attended by over 200,00 people, the goal of its organizer, the National Organization for Women (NOW), is to stop violence against women (1st of 4 photographs).
