Fifth U.S. Army Headquarters at 1660 E. Hyde Park Blvd. Formerly the Chicago Beach Hotel, the building was acquired by the Army in 1942, and functioned as Gardiner General Hospital during World War II. When Army offices were relocated to Fort Sheridan in May 1967, the building was demolished.
