Kelly Twins 1
I: Individuals and Groups
During a study of orphans who were privately adopted, Horatio Hackett Newman, professor of Zoology at the University of Chicago, discovered Georgiana Kelly (left) and Eleanor Kelly (right), of South Bend, Indiana, each unaware of the others existence. Dr. Newman found them while searching for identical twins who had been reared apart, since such cases provide valuable scientific material about the effect of environment on mentality.
