Description | At Aswan, Egypt, Frances Hart Breasted and her husband archaeologist James Henry Breasted stand on what is believed to be the largest obelisk block ever quarried. It was abandoned because of a flaw, visible at the near end of the shaft. Excavators later found dolerite hammers of the stone cutters lying at the bottom of the trench. |
