Robert Maynard Hutchins (left), University of Chicago president (1929-1945) and chancellor (1945-1951), stands under a picture of William Rainey Harper, first university president who took office 50 years ago. Mr. Hutchins is meeting Mr. Harper "in the flesh," that is, in the flesh of Paul C. Hodges, professor and chairman of the department of Radiology, who played the part of the former president in a special revival of "The Deceitful Dean" last autumn as part of anniversary celebration activities.
