The skull and leg bones of a child found in Mechta-El-Arbi, Algeria are pictured in situ. The discovery was made by Alonzo W. Pond of Beloit University’s Logan African Expedition. Thought to be from 45,000 to 60,000 years old, the bones have been sent to the University of Chicago for classification by the anthropologist Fay-Cooper Cole and paleontologist Alfred S. Romer.
