Description | Snow Solar Telescope building at Mount Wilson Observatory. The Snow horizontal telescope (coelostat) equipped with a concave mirror was a given by Helen E. Snow to the Yerkes Observatory in Williams Bay, Wisconsin to honor the memory of her father George W. Snow. It was taken to California in 1904 by former Yerkes director George Ellery Hale, and now resides in a building next to the 60-foot solar tower. |
