Murray Gell-Mann, visiting research professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign (1952-1953), and associate professor of Physics at the University of Chicago (1954-1955). Mr. Gell-Mann was awarded the 1969 Nobel Prize in Physics for his work on the theory of elementary particles.
