Description | Pre-cast concrete columns and canopy sections of the University of Chicago's Center for Continuing Education were furnished by Martin Marietta Corporation's concrete organization. The seventy-two columns encircling the building are thirty-six feet high and have a simulated limestone appearance. The attractive light and shadow effect is achieved through 146 slots running through all four sides of the sixteen-foot wide canopy. |
