| Description | Foster Hall was one of three dormitories for women completed by October 1893 at the University of Chicago. It was named for Nancy Foster. Kelly and Beecher Halls, the two other women's residences, were named respectively for Elizabeth Green Kelly, and Mary Beecher. Recently remolded, the Foster Hall complex now serves students and professors as classrooms, offices, and laboratories. The photograph was a gift of Francis W. Shepardson, 1917. |
