Exhibit at the University of Chicago's Oriental Institute illustrates the workings of business and banking in the Ancient World. Included are: seals used by ancient secretaries to sign letters; and texts on clay that recorded a laundry list noting various articles of clothing, circa 597 BCE; a business letter, circa 1900 BCE; and a banker's list of promissory notes.
