Egyptian Cat 2
II: Buildings and Grounds
Slightly larger-than-life-sized, the bronze image is one of the world’s finest representations of a miu (old Egyptian for cat). An animal sacred to the Goddess of Bast, the sculpture is believed to be between 2,000 and 2,500 years old and is a new acquisition of the University of Chicago's Oriental Institute.
