Description | University of Chicago Chapel Carillon. Intermediate level looking west from the exterior of the building. Note needle beams and steel above supporting the great mullion between the two stone tracery window heads of the east wall. The space thus made permits the largest bells to come in on the car, which runs in the track shown in the lower part of the picture. Note faint white lines, diagonal steel of truss extending out from the building to the east. Space between four men at the bottom is the section of the mullion below, part of which is being removed. |
