Norman Hilberry (left) and Leo Szilard (right) discuss atomic energy research. The scientists worked with the late Enrico Fermi to achieve the first controlled nuclear fission chain reaction at the University of Chicago's Stagg Field, December 2, 1942. The occasion was a ceremony, which preceded the demolition of the athletic venue's stands, August 15, 1957.
