Description | Yale University president James Rowland Angell spoke at a meeting of the University of Chicago Citizens' Board. Following retirement after 16 years of distinguished service, Dr. Angell will serve as Educational Counselor at the National Broadcasting Company, where he will apply his educational and cultural expertise in the interest of millions of radio listeners. NBC president Lenox R. Lohr prevailed upon Dr. Angell to accept the post, and in doing so he declared: The educational possibilities of radio are just beginning to be fully appreciated and I trust that I can make some small contribution to increasing its significance for young and old alike. |
