Unbaked clay figurine found at Jarmo (Iraq), one of the world's oldest known agricultural communities. A 1948 expedition led by Robert J. Braidwood, field director for the University of Chicago's Oriental Institute, first discovered the settlement, and a number of figurines were unearthed during Braidwood's later excavations (1954-1955).
