Nippur Expedition 32
III: Events
Household divinity seated on a simple throne, 1800 BCE, the accoutrement held in his left hand is lost. A joint University of Chicago-University of Pennsylvania expedition to the city of Nippur in Iraq found the figure broken in pieces in a chapel within the living quarters of scribes. It was painted red save for a black beard.
