View | Dry Night Club, Mandel Hall 1 |
Series | IV: Student Activities |
Description | Swinging out at a jam session during the opening night of the "Dry Nightclub" in Mandel Hall at the University of Chicago are Marjorie Kuh and Marjorie Schulz. Like other collegiate dry spots, this one has a touch of amateur hour about it because talent for the floorshow and entertainment consists mostly of students. Other advantages claimed by supporters of the college club plan include keeping students out of places where liquor is sold by providing them with alternative entertainment and keeping them at school over weekends, thus reducing the danger of automobile accidents. |
