Frances Biery (left), a 26-year-old organist from Dayton, Indiana who is blind, converses via Braille with Geraldine Lawhorn (right), a deaf and blind young woman. Ms. Lawhorn came to visit Ms. Biery, who was practicing on the University of Chicago's organ for a concert in Rockefeller Chapel. Blind from the age of ten, Ms. Biery is writing a book about her school days in Dayton, and Ms. Lawhorn intends to take up writing too.
