Description | The Snow horizontal telescope (coelostat) equipped with a concave mirror was a gift to Yerkes Observatory from Helen E. Snow in memory of her father George W. Snow. It was taken to California in 1904 by former Yerkes Observatory director George Ellery Hale, and was housed in a building next to the 60-foot solar tower on Mount Wilson. |
