VII: Chicago Maroon
The sculptor Henry Moore working on his bronze "Nuclear Energy." Dedicated December 2, 1967, the sculpture was placed on the site where the first controlled self-sustaining nuclear chain reaction was realized by scientists of the Manhattan Project. The event occurred under the west stands of the old Stagg Athletic Field on the University of Chicago campus.
