Cyprus Crisis, 1974 18
VII: Chicago Maroon
Chicago police officers stand in the lobby of the Pick Congress Hotel in Chicago with guests who will attend a fundraising dinner for the University of Chicago. The presence of Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, the keynote speaker, attracted a large number of pro-Greek demonstrators who protested Kissinger's handling of the 1974 Greek coup in Cyprus and the subsequent Turkish invasion (18th of 18 photographs).
