Gay Rights Demonstrations
Rally Against Harassment, April 1991 29
VII: Chicago Maroon
Andrew Ross, graduate student in biology and one of the targets in a recent series of anti-gay attacks and harassment at the University of Chicago, speaks through a bullhorn to attendees of a campus rally. Ross and others had been attacked verbally and physically, and had received letters which the senders claimed contained neurotoxin. Students were angry at university administrators who cancelled an open meeting to address the issues.
