Attended by delegates from 60 other academic institutions, the ceremonies were held in conjunction with the school's 83rd convocation. Among those pictured is author and educator Booker T. Washington (far left), founder of Alabama's Tuskegee Normal and Industrial Institute. The photograph was a gift of photographer James Nash Vincent.
