Description | Maquette of Chicago's Heald Square Monument depicts George Washington (center) with patriots who raised and donated thousands of dollars in support of the American Revolution, Robert Morris (left) and Haym Salomon (right). Commissioned by the Patriotic Foundation of Chicago, sculptor Lorado Taft began the work which was completed in 1941 by his associates, Leonard Crunelle, Nellie Verne Walker, and Mary H. Webster. Among those pictured are Mr. Crunelle (right) and members of the foundation, attorney Barnet Hodes (left), Nathan Goldblatt (3rd left), and an unidentified man (2nd left). |
