Description | Lawrence Fisher (center), associate professor in the University of Chicago's Graduate School of Business and an unidentified technician (left) count computer tapes which were used in a study of investments in common stocks and rates of return on the New York Stock Exchange (December 31, 1926-January 1, 1960). Recently completed at the GSB's Center for Research in Security Prices where Mr. Fisher is associate director, the study was funded by grants from the brokerage firm Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith Inc., the National Science Foundation, and the Ford Foundation. |
