A. Leo Oppenheim (2nd right), Assyriologist and the John A. Wilson Professor of Oriental Studies at the University of Chicago. Mr. Oppenheim is the recipient of the 1965 Gordon E. Laing Prize, awarded by the University Press, for his book Ancient Mesopotamia: Portrait of a Dead Civilization. Pictured with him are Robert McCormick Adams (left), director of the Oriental Institute, Elizabeth Munk Oppenheim (2nd left), and Lloyd A. Fallers (right), professor of Sociology and Anthropology.
