Description | Order of the C program, 5 June 1941, includes the dedication of a memorial oak planted to honor James "Jimmy" Twohig, groundskeeper of Stagg Field and all other campus athletic sites at the University of Chicago. Mr. Twohig worked at the old university on 35th Street and Cottage Grove Avenue from 1884 to 1886, and at the school's new location in Hyde Park from 1900 until his retirement in 1934. |
