Nathan Sugarman (left), professor of Chemistry at the University of Chicago. A pioneer in nuclear chemistry, Dr. Sugarman worked on the Manhattan Project under Enrico Fermi, and helped to develop the atomic bomb. He is pictured with two unidentified students.
