Description | After forging the huge pieces are placed on a large planer where the surface is machined to the right finish. Holes are also drilled for insertion of the long bolts used in assembling the magnet. The planers and boring mills used in these operations at the Bethlehem, Pennsylvania plant of the Bethlehem Steel Company are among the largest in the world. |
