Cutaway drawing (photograph copy) of the Experimental Breeder Reactor II. When completed in 1960, it will be the first integrated power reactor system to operate on a closed fuel cycle. Featured are a fuel reprocessing and refabricating facility in addition to a reactor, heat transfer systems, and steam-electric plant. Argonne National Laboratory will exhibit the EBR-II at the Second International Conference on the Peaceful Uses of Atomic Energy, Geneva, Switzerland September 1-13.
