Uranus and its system of five known moons. Astronomer Gerard Kuiper discovered Miranda, the fifth moon in February 1948. The other four moons are Ariel, Umbriel, Titania, and Oberon. Photograph taken with the 82-inch McDonald reflector telescope (exposure of 3 minutes, 30 seconds).
