Music comes from the 286-ton instrument. Crowds gathered at the University of Chicago's chapel Thanksgiving morning for the dedication of it $200,000 carillon, a gift of John D. Rockefeller, Jr. The carillon is made up of seventy-two bells, the largest weighing 18.5 tons.
