Philosopher. This figure and many others, symbolic of the lines of endeavor and experience which have carried the human spirit to higher levels, will be carved life-size in stone on the massive walls of the new University of Chicago chapel, now being built above the Midway at Woodlawn Avenue. The carvings are from models by Lee Lawrie.
