Second of three-parts on the theme of "Racial Equality in America," the lecture was delivered by John Hope Franklin, the John Matthews Manly Distinguished Service Professor in the department of History at the University of Chicago. Mr. Franklin (left), who grows orchids as a hobby, was presented with the Phalaenopsis John Hope Franklin, a hybrid registered in his name by university president John T. Wilson (right). |
